Refresh this page until your test ad appears. It may take a couple of attempts if multiple clients are testing simultaneously.

!

Dynamic Conversion Value

A pixel firing in browser DevTools does not confirm the Conversion Value was passed back to Topple. If the value is blank, shows “Dynamic Value,” or doesn't match your purchase total, further debugging is required. Verify in your Topple campaign report — not DevTools.

01

Request / Confirm Your Test Campaign

A Pixel Test Campaign must be launched by a Topple Admin. If you haven't already, contact Topple with your name, company, pixel type (Conversion, Retargeting, or both), a 300 × 250 ad unit, and your destination URL.

02

Wait for Your Test Ad

Once Topple has launched your campaign, visit this page and refresh until your 300 × 250 test ad appears. Multiple clients may be testing simultaneously — it may take a couple of refreshes.

03

Click + Complete a Test Purchase

When your ad appears: click it, let the destination URL load, add an item to your cart, and complete a purchase. This test purchase is required to verify that your Conversion Value is being passed back to Topple.

04

Verify the Results

After purchasing, either notify Topple to verify for you, or log into your Topple account: enable the Conversion Data toggle, select your pixels, review the campaign-performance table, and set the date to the exact day of your test.

Dynamic Conversion Pixel

Why the Conversion
Value matters.

Topple offers three Conversion Pixel options: No Value, Fixed, and Dynamic. Dynamic Conversion Pixel requires a customizable data-value parameter so that Topple receives the exact conversion value for each transaction.

Because every advertiser's website and configuration can differ, this parameter must be customized — which involves some light coding. As a result, Dynamic Conversion Pixel configuration is where implementation issues most commonly occur.

The Conversion Value feeds:

Revenue

Total conversion revenue attributed to the campaign.

Net Revenue

Revenue minus ad spend.

ROAS

Return on Ad Spend — requires fixed or dynamic Conversion Value to calculate.

Conversion Pixel Options

01

No Value

A conversion is recorded without passing a conversion value. No revenue data is transmitted.

02

Fixed

A predefined conversion value is associated with every conversion. The same value is applied each time.

03

Dynamic

The conversion value is passed dynamically using a customizable data-value parameter. Because the parameter must be configured for each advertiser's website, this option involves some light coding and requires careful testing.

Note

Dynamic Values Require Verification

Because Dynamic Conversion Pixel requires a customizable data-value parameter, the Pixel Test Campaign is used to verify that the expected Conversion Value is actually passed back to Topple. A pixel appearing to fire does not by itself confirm that the correct value was received. Verify the Conversion Value in Topple reporting.
